Takin' a bite out of the apple
I've stayed away from the Mac vs pc debate...mainly because it's boring. If you want to know what I really think...well, they're all just toolkits to me. I've used both but I have to admit I prefer Wintell. They may be ugly but they're affordable and do exactly the same things Apple computers do and I will not enter into any arguments on that point - it's just a fact.
Apple do make some sexy looking computers though...well, they did. I loved the first two releases of the imac. The all in one telly and lamp stand. (I was really close to buying a lampstand when I was looking to upgrade last time) The new imac looked good in pics etc but when I saw one in a shop the other day - yuck! Tiny screen, waste of space below it...It just looks ugly and silly. The new box thing...what's that? It's a whole lot of nothing for a shit load of money. Have a look at the specs. You can get a similar wintel machine for less AND you get a monitor, keyboard and mouse! Why they didn't stick with the lamp shade or upgrade it I'll never know. It was a far superior design. I had a go of one and fell in love immediately. Still I would never buy a mac keyboard or mouse - they still persist in bloody awful design for them. It feels like I should have talons rather than fingers to use them.

At one stage I did want an ipod...and I still kinda do, but Apple have been totally usurped by other companies. They may not have the splendid little wheel navigator but for the price and what you get for it...once again, They get flogged. Sony's new handheld Playstation will do so much more at around the same price. And the new flash mini thingy ipod. Very dissapointing. Here's what the head of Creative had to say and it's bloody true!
"We’re expecting a good fight but they’re coming out with something that’s five generations older. It’s our first generation MuVo One product feature, without display, just have a (shuffle feature). We had that — that’s a four-year-old product. So I think the whole industry will just laugh at it, because the flash people — it’s worse than the cheapest Chinese player. Even the cheap, cheap Chinese brand today has display and has FM. They don’t have this kind of thing, and they expect to come out with a fight; I think it’s a non-starter to begin with."
Yep! I think Mr Jobs might need to remember his old ad campaign `Think Different' because they sure as hell aren't now.
