Merry Christmas from Rossco!
Here's my Christmas card for the year folks. I hope you all have a great time, make it home in one piece and enjoy a happy and prosperous new year.
Just so you know, Christmas in Australia is an utterly stupid time of the year. We live in the hottest continent on the planet and yet everything about Christmas is interpreted as if we were in Europe or the US. We spray fake snow on our windows for the illusion that our homes have been recently caught in a snow storm. Decorative items in and on our houses bear no relation to Australia at all.
European villages, covered in fake snow are created in miniature in shopping centres where Santa Clause, a morbidly obese gentleman rugged up for cold weather, listens to and sits patiently waiting to be photographed with sugar engorged children. He sits and sweats and sweats in the heat. I know this because I used to be one. (and it was one of the best jobs I've ever had so there is a good side to it).
On Christmas Day, while the temperature is around the thirty to forty degree mark, many of us will eat a hot roast dinner. And then of course there's the bloody shopping. But then that's a curse felt by everyone around the world.
